Fron Male Voice Choir get behind Grandad

The Fron Male Voice Choir have come together to raise the profile of Grandparents everywhere by recording a special version of the song Grandad for their forthcoming album.

The UK’s favourite male choir is due to release a new album called Voices of the Valley – The Ultimate Collection in October, comprised of the choir’s best tracks from the last five years and two new recordings. One will be Grandad which features the vocal talents of the choir's grandchildren, the other will be the classic rock ballad, He Aint Heavy.

Ahead of Grandparents Day on 2 October the Fron Choir have released an e-card that can be personalised and sent to grandparents.

Dave Jones, the Fron Choir’s Chairman explained, “With an average age of 60, as you can imagine, a fair few of us in the choir are granddads. I became a grandfather two years ago, and what a wonderful thing it is. We’re launching Grandad and the e-card as a tribute to the valuable role that grandparents play in children’s lives and in the hope that it will help to spread some love, raise a few smiles and possibly, on Grandparents day, help to reconnect some of the one million children in the UK who’ve lost touch with their grandparents as a result of separation or divorce.”

The Fron Choir intend to release Grandad as a single officially on 19th December to compete for the Christmas No. 1 spot. In the meantime you can download the Grandparents Day e-card from their website.
