St John’s Smith Square is a magnificent Baroque church that has stood in the heart of Westminster for nearly 300 years. Since its construction, the building has survived a fire, lightning, bomb plots and a monumental attack during the Blitz that completely gutted its interior.

It was transformed into a spectacular concert venue in the 1960s and the greatest international musicians, from conductor Simon Rattle and cellist Jacqueline du Pré, to American composer Eric Whitacre, have played there since.
