Charlotte Hawkins is a British TV and radio presenter best known for her work on Classic FM and ITV’s Good Morning Britain. From her career to her husband and stellar wardrobe, here’s everything you need to know.
Charlotte Hawkins is a TV and radio presenter, born on 16 May 1975 in Chichester, West Sussex.
Since 7 January 2018, she has presented a show on Classic FM on Sunday afternoons from 3-5pm. She is also a TV presenter on Good Morning Britain alongside Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.
Charlotte competed in the 15th series of Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Brendan Cole, but was eliminated in the fourth week. Married to businessman Mark Herbert, she is also a mother to her young daughter, Ella Rose.
Charlotte Hawkins’ career
After graduating from the University of Manchester with a BA in English Literature, Charlotte undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the London College of Printing.
Shortly after completing her diploma, she began her career in 1999 as a newsreader for LBC, Classic FM’s now-sister station at Global.
In 2003, Charlotte became the host of the main news show on ITV’s Meridian Tonight, before co-presenting Sunrise, Sky’s breakfast programme with Eamonn Holmes in 2006.

Charlotte Hawkins’ favourite music
In the lead-up to her new show on Classic FM, Charlotte revealed that her favourite pieces of classical music are Pachelbel’s Canon, Ludovico Einaudi’s ‘Fly’ and Delibes’ Flower Duet.
She said: “Pachelbel’s Canon is a very special piece of music for me, because it was played at my wedding as I walked down the aisle at Chichester Cathedral – and it was also one of my Dad’s favourites.”
Charlotte Hawkins’ husband
Charlotte married her partner of five years, businessman Mark Herbert, on 23 August 2008 at Chichester Cathedral.
On 12 August 2014, she announced live on Good Morning Britain that they were expecting their first child. On 8 February 2015 the couple became parents to a baby girl, Ella Rose. The family live in Surrey.

Charlotte has become something of a fashion icon on Good Morning Britain. She regularly wears dresses from Marks and Spencer and L.K. Bennett, as well as other high street stores like Warehouse and Oasis.

Charlotte Hawkins’ charity work
Charlotte is a patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association – a role she took on following the death of her father. She attended Stephen Hawking’s funeral in April last year (2018), after he died of the same condition.
