Trumpeter Alison Balsom revealed that she will record an album with Ethan Johns later this year when she travels to America.
Gramophone Artist of the Year Alison Balsom has confirmed that she will be recording a new album with legendary rock producer Ethan Johns, who has previously worked with artists including Tom Jones, Kings of Leon, The Vaccines and Joe Cocker.
"When I'm in the States I'm going to be making an album with an amazing producer for Rufus Wainwright, Laura Marling and many others - Ethan Johns. We're going to have a lot of fun." You can watch the full interview below.
The news comes after Balsom posted a picture of herself and Johns earlier this year. Speaking to Jamie Crick at last night's Gramophone Awards, she also hinted that she was keen to take the trumpet into several different stylistic areas, like funk, soul and world music.
