Watch as this talented musician plays one of Puccini’s most beautiful pieces… on a saw

Adriano Fernandez wowed the judges of ‘Spain's Got Talent’ with his rendition of ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’, from Puccini’s opera Gianni Schicchi.

But Adriano isn't a singer… in fact, he performed the aria on an instrument which isn’t really an instrument at all: a hand saw.

He bends the saw and draws a violin bow across the blade to produce a unique sound – part-violin, part-human voice, part something we can’t quite put our finger on.

It’s no surprise he receives a standing ovation for his performance.

The musician, who describes the instrument as a 'musical saw' or 'singing saw', has covered a number of famous songs on the unusual instrument. Some of his favourite covers include ‘Misty’ by Ella Fitzgerald, Erik Satie’s ‘Gymnopedie No.3’ and ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’.
