Haiti Charity Album Breaks Digital Download Record

A charity album released in aid of the Haiti relief effort has become the first digital-only album release to top the US album chart.

The album 'Hope for Haiti Now', which features performances recorded at last week's Hope for Haiti Now Telethon has gone straight to number one in the Billboard Chart on download sales alone.

The charity telethon was organised by actor George Clooney and music channel MTV, and was broadcast from New York, Los Angeles, London and Haiti, on all US TV channels, YouTube and on MTV in the UK.

The album features performance from artists from the charity fundraiser including Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Chris Martin, Madonna, U2 and Haitian-born rap star Wyclef Jean.

If you haven't already, do your bit for this worthy cause now and download 'Hope for Haiti Now' from iTunes.

All money raised from the sales will go to the Haiti relief effort.
