Classic FM Scoops Gold Radio Award

Classic FM was the big winner at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards last night (July 4) when it scooped the Gold Award. Classical star, Katherine Jenkins, was among the guests who attended the Awards, held at London’s Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel. Guest presenters included Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, Kay Burley and Lisa Snowdon.

The Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards are organised by RadioCentre, the industry body for commercial radio, and are held to recognise excellence and achievement across the whole spectrum of commercial radio output.

The award for Classic FM was particularly timely as we’re celebrating our 20th year of broadcasting with the judges citing our "creativity, innovation, revenue generation and the constant refreshing of a product which enables it to stay at the top of its game and the front of advertisers’ minds year after year.”

They continued: "It’s been run by the same management team for the best part of a decade and many of the presenters who were there on day one are still delighting listeners today, joined by some of UK radio’s biggest stars."

Classic FM’s sister stations Capital FM, Heart FM, XFM and LBC 97.3 were also recognised at the awards.
