Deutsche Grammophon
Destination Rachmaninov – Departure is the first album in Daniil Trifonov’s latest project with Deutsche Grammophon. Together with, Destination Rachmaninov – Arrival (to be released in 2019), Trifonov explores Rachmaninov’s cycle of piano concertos. He takes on the challenging concertos with the Philadelphia Orchestra and its music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. This album includes Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2, his transcription of a solo Bach Partita for solo violin No. 3, and Trifonov’s personal favourite, the Piano Concerto No. 4.
Invisible Hands
Libera put an ambient spin on classics including Caccini’s Ave Maria, Sanctus and The Prayer in their new album Beyond. The young choral group from south London have already accumulated 50 million views on YouTube, performed for the Pope and President, and gained international success. This album follows the success of their last album, Hope, in 2017, and is a welcomed relaxing listen.
