The film starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga takes the award for Best Original Music at the Baftas 2019

A Star is Born puts music front and centre, so it’s no surprise the soundtrack has scooped the award for Best Original Music at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards.

The music for the film was written by Mark Ronson, Jason Isbell, Natalie Hemby and Lori McKenna, among other artists. The soundtrack for the film included live performances and studio recordings by the cast, including Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

Accepting the award, Bradley Cooper said: "This music was the heartbeat of the film."

Does Bradley Cooper really sing in A Star is Born?

Elsewhere, Alfonso Cuarón was named Best director for his film Roma, Olivia Colman took home the Best Actress award for her role in The Favourite, Rachel Weisz was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in the same film, Mahershala Ali topped the Best Supporting Actor category for Green Book while Bohemian Rhapsody won the Best Sound Award.
