‘Clair de lune’ on a theremin sounds haunting and otherworldly

The popular movement from Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque… but played by strange, melancholic aliens.

The theremin is a uniquely weird instrument. It was invented in the 1920s by Léon Theremin, a Soviet scientist, and you play it without even touching it.

The sound is produced through electromagnetic fields generated by two antennas. And the eerie sound of the theremin has featured on many a sci-fi show, including Doctor Who, .

But this is the first time we've heard someone playing Debussy’s ‘Clair de lune’ on the instrument. It sounds straight out of E.T....
