Video game music album set for repeated chart success

The Greatest Video Game Music 2 is currently topping the UK classical iTunes chart after being released yesterday.
An album made up completely of video game music, The Greatest Video Game Music 2, is currently at the top of the UK iTunes classical chart. Featuring the London Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted/arranged by Andrew Skeet, it features 17 new orchestrations of classic video game soundtracks.
The album's predecessor has currently sold over 100,000 copies, making it the most successful video games music release in history.
The second volume features soundtrack highlights from Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Final Fantasy VII (which has also featured in the Classic FM Hall Of Fame) and older titles like Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Metroid.
Released on download only yesterday, it is part of a recent surge of interest in video games music.
