One Direction's Niall Horan reveals violin-playing past in new video

Niall Horan, singer with boy band One Direction, has revealed a different musical side to himself in the band's new video for their single 'Story Of My Life'.

The concept behind the new video involves each individual member of the band looking back at old family photos. Horan's photo shows him playing the violin in the front room of his house, while his brother plays guitar.

Horan's brother Greg and Niall himself are then pictured recreating the same pose in the present day.

Early signs suggest that Horan, who has been a member of One Direction since their formation in 2010 on ITV talent show The X Factor, will not be pursuing a classical career as a result.

The picture reveals a rather less-than-stable bow grip and a decidedly flat left hand position that doesn't lend itself to second and third position fingerings.
