John Williams, Alexandre Desplat, Thomas Newman and Mychael Danna are among the composers nominated for best music Oscars.
The Oscar nominations for the best music and best song categories have been announced from a ceremony in Hollywood.
The nominations for best music have gone to Dario Marianelli (for Anna Karenina), Alexandre Desplat (for Argo), Mychael Danna (for Life of Pi), John Williams (for Lincoln) and Thomas Newman (for Skyfall).
Alongside his nomination for best music, Mychael Danna also received a nomination in the best original song category, for his song 'Pi's Lullaby' from Life of Pi, featuring lyrics by Bombay Jayashri.
Other nominations for best original song went to Claude-Michel Schoenberg, Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil for 'Suddenly' from Les Misérables and Adele for the title track from Skyfall, alongside nominations for songs from Ted and Chasing Ice.
Overall, Steven Spielberg's Lincoln is dominating the nominations with 12 nods, while Life Of Pi is also riding high with 11.
