Watch the traditional song ‘Danny Boy’ in this very touching performance.

28-year-old William Boyce works as a carer at Whitehills Care Home in East Kilbride, Scotland. And he also happens to be in possession of a very fine operatic voice.

A few months ago, Boyce heard that one of the home’s dementia patients loved the traditional Irish song ‘Danny Boy’. So, reading the lyrics from his phone, he serenaded the residents of the home.

What a voice! And in this touching video you can hear members of the audience singing along to the famous tune. It truly demonstrates the power of music. Bravo!

He told Classic FM, “I with people who suffer with dementia which can be a challenging environment to work in, so I sing to them as music seems to settle them, lift their mood and bring a smile.”

William has been singing since he was 5 years old and told us that his all-time hero was Pavarotti.

“My dream is to be on Britains Got Talent and perform opera in the Royal Opera House.”
