The four cellists of Apocalyptica performed this cover of a Metallica classic at ‘Hellfest’ in 2017. And it proves once and for all that heavy metal and classical music are two sides of the very same coin

Metallica’s ‘Orion’ is an instrumental track from the band’s 1986 album ‘Master of Puppets’. It’s an epic metal masterpiece, clocking in at eight minutes.

And as if that’s not epic enough, it’s named after the constellation Orion in actual space.

The song has a prominent bass solo – originally performance by the band’s former bass player, the late Cliff Burton.

So it shouldn’t really come as any surprise that the track translates neatly over to cello.
