The pianist is performing an extra solo recital on November 17 2013 after selling 5000 tickets to his concert in two days.
Lang Lang is performing an extra recital at the Royal Albert Hall after selling out the venue in 48 hours. This is a record for a solo classical recital at the venue in recent years.
While larger orchestral concerts are often popular, it is extremely unusual for a solo performer to sell out the venue so quickly, especially a classical musician. Lang Lang is now among the artists who have enjoyed the fastest ticket sales of the year at the venue, alongside Noel Gallagher and Primal Scream.
Jasper Hope, Royal Albert Hall Chief Operating Officer, said the rush in sales was 'simply unprecedented' for a classical recital. He said: "It’s fantastic that Lang Lang is making classical music is so popular and we're delighted to be able to be able to add this extra performance as a result so his many London and UK fans have another chance to hear him."
The pianist will be playing music from his latest album, The Chopin Album, which includes piano sonatas by Mozart alongside Chopin Ballades.
