Violinist and Classic BRIT Award nominee André Rieu is to release both a Christmas album and DVD in October.
Classic BRIT nominee André Rieu's albums and live concerto DVDs are always a popular draw, but this year he's gone all-out and is planning both a Christmas album and a live Christmas concert DVD, to be released in October.
The album is entitled 'December Lights', which is also the name of one track that Rieu composed himself, inspired by the occasion on which he met his wife.
The DVD and Blu-Ray, 'Home For Christmas', is a typically extravagant live show, including festive classics like Silent Night and White Christmas. The show also includes several revealing chats with Rieu, who reveals his feelings about Christmas and how he celebrates.
As usual, the concert comes from Rieu's own castle home in Maastricht. The setting is said to be decked out in lavish Christmas decorations. Rieu commented: "With 'Home For Christmas' I not only want to share my personal thoughts about this special time of the year, but also my very own selection of the world’s most beautiful Christmas classics."
