This minor key version of ‘Jingle Bells’ definitely won’t make your spirits bright.
Although it seems like most Christmas songs should be in a major key, there are a few carols out there that rock a minor tonality – yes, ‘Coventry Carol’ and ‘We Three Kings’, we’re looking at you.
Pianist Toms Mucenieks was tired of playing the same old festive songs every year, so he followed in the footsteps of these great carollers.
He decided to put ‘Jingle Bells’ – probably the happiest Christmas song in the world – in a minor key. It sounds super creepy and intense, but we sort of love it.
