In 2006, at the age of 17, Cordelia Williams was the Piano Winner of Young Musician of the Year. Her career has gone from strength to strength and, last year, she won the Concours International de Piano in Aix-en-Provence.
For her debut CD on the SOMM label - which specialises in upcoming young musicians - she showcases her passion for Schubert, in particular the composer's eight Impromptus. 'Ever since I was very young, I have been absolutely in love with his music,' Cordelia has said.
Williams' brilliantly fluid technique and unassuming mastery of the piano is to the fore on this recording which promises much for the future.
