This is exactly how ‘Last Christmas’ would have sounded if J.S. Bach had composed it (with a little help from Mozart).
This musician has combined Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Mozart’s Divertimento in D and Wham!’s pop Christmas staple to create a surprisingly beautiful cello arrangement of ‘Last Christmas’.
It’s pretty much just a cellist in period costume (doubled), alongside some delightful harmony and counterpoint.
The arrangement and performance comes from Kjell Magne Robak, with camera work by Ragne Vicotria Stauri.
Bravo, lads.
