Kobe Bryant plays Beethoven in new TV ad

Basketball player Kobe Bryant has appeared in a new TV commercial playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on the piano.

The LA Lakers player is seen playing the piano classic (the sonata no. 14 in C sharp minor) on a grand piano, accompanied by a string quartet.

Bryant, also known as the Black Mamba, has previously spoken about his love of Beethoven via his Twitter account. Tweeting back in January, he said: "Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata calms me down when I reach my breaking point #relaxandfocus"

At the time, he claimed he had been learning to play the piano for a year, and that he had learned the Moonlight Sonata by ear.
