Although Kenneth Schermerhorn falls short of the best, his interpretation is honest and heartfelt. His dramatic vision is backed by an impressive solo quartet, a choir that leaves nothing in reserve and the rich-sounding Nashville Symphony. A generous Naxos bargain.
