Relaxing Evenings with Zeb Soanes 7pm - 10pm
This week the 27-year-old pianist hailed by the New York Times as "the hottest artist on the classical music planet".
Lang Lang first shot to fame when, aged 17, he triumphed at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Gala of the Century, playing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1. He'd been practising for many years, though, having already won the Shenyang Piano Competition at the age of five!
In recent years, Lang Lang has played sold out recitals and concerts in every major city in the world, and for his first album with Sony Classical, he's chosen to release a live recording of diverse music by Beethoven, Albeniz, Chopin and Prokofiev. This CD isn’t released until 23rd August – so you'll be hearing it here first!
