Composer and arranger Bjørnar Utne-Reitan has turned one of the most famous TV themes ever written into a perfectly balanced fugue.

When you think of a fugue (and we think of them often), it’s usually a delicately crafted interlocking work of genius, based on an original theme. Well, because of the internet and geeks, this is now not always the case.

Composers on the internet now delight in taking their favourite popular themes from TV, movies and pop songs, and apply the rules of the fugue to them religiously, resulting in miniature works of genius like Bjørnar Utne-Reitan’s fugue on the Game of Thrones theme.
