Tyne Daley's Master Class

Master Class, an extraordinary insight into the life and loves of opera sensation Maria Callas, comes to the West End of London this week. Playing Maria herself is award-winning actress Tyne Daley, and Classic FM's Lucy Coward has been speaking to her all about this challenging role.

Directed by Terrence McNally, 'Master Class' is a riveting, moving and often hilarious portrayal of the legendary Maria Callas, inspired by a series of master classes she gave in the 70s. The production has already become a smash hit on Broadway and won a Tony Award.

As the play moves to London's West End for a short run this week, Classic FM's Lucy Coward spoke to Tyne Daley, the actress tasked with playing the opera diva herself. Tyne told us all about the process and challenges of playing such a well-known musical figure.
