The Full Works Concert - Tuesday 22 January 2013: Celebrating the Royal Philharmonic Society
Did you know that the Royal Philharmonic Society commissioned Dvorak’s Symphony No.7, Ferdinand David’s Violin Concerto No.1 and Gounod’s Symphony No.1? We’ll hear them all tonight, performed in full, alongside Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture – which, thanks to the RPS, received its first performance in England in 1832.
