The Full Works Concert - Friday 25 July, 8pm
Jane Jones celebrates the start of the school holidays with music inspired by composers' travels.
Most schools around the country broke up this week, so we are celebrating the start of the holidays on the Full Works Concert – as well as the start of the weekend for those for whom school holidays are a distant memory.
Jane Jones has two hours of music inspired by holidays: from Tchaikovsky’s musical postcard of Florence to the symphony Mozart dedicated to Prague.
And the concert starts with Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture, inspired by the Scottish islands which made a profound impact on the composer.
