Here’s how to watch the online ‘Global Goal: Unite for Our Future’ concert this weekend – wherever you are in the world.
Part-concert, part-campaign taking place this Saturday (27 June), the event aims to raise awareness and money for the COVID-19 fallout, while calling for action around testing, treatment and vaccine research.
It will be televised and streamed online globally, and hopes to highlight the disproportionate impact coronavirus is having on disadvantaged communities — including BAME populations, people living in extreme poverty, and other communities that face discrimination.
The concert will be hosted by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and will feature performances from mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges with the Los Angeles Philharmonic & Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, as well as Lin-Manuel Miranda and select members of the Broadway production of HAMILTON.
They appear on a big bill packed with big names – including Coldplay, singers Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Shakira and Usher, David Beckham, and actor Olivia Colman. And there’s loads more – you can see the ‘Global Goal: Unite for Our Future —The Concert’ line up here.
Global Citizen’s ‘Global Goal’ online event starts at 2pm (9am ET) with ‘Global Goal: Unite for Our Future — The Summit’.
The concert will start at 7pm BST (2pm ET), and will feature performances from Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Shakira and Usher as well as Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil.
‘Global Goal: Unite for Our Future’ is streaming on YouTube – and above, at the top of this page – globally at 7pm (BST) on Saturday 27 June. It will also be televised around the world, with UK broadcasts also taking place on Roku (smart TV), Apple TV and Brut.
