The Full Works Concert - Monday 8 September, 8pm

Catherine Bott - sitting in for Jane Jones - presents a Full Works Concert of fine new recordings.

Catherine Bott sits in for Jane Jones to bring you a Full Works Concert of the best recent releases.

The Concert includes Edward Gardner's scintillating new account of Mendelssohn's 3rd Symphony with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, recorded in Birmingham Town Hall. It's the second volume of their series exploring the connections between Felix Mendelssohn  and the city, and it's this week's Drive Featured Album on Classic FM.

There's also a chance to hear film music from Hollywood's Golden Age with Daniel Hope (pictured) playing Miklos Rozsa's Love Theme from El Cid. That's from his recent album of classic movie scores, Escape to Paradise - The Hollywood Album.
