Classic FM Conversation: tell Alan Titchmarsh about your favourite spring flower

Each week, our Saturday morning presenter Alan Titchmarsh shares a gardening tip. This week he wants to know what's your bright spring flower.

Today's gardening tip is for a listener who would like Alan to suggest a suitably bright and beautiful plant for spring, to celebrate the arrival of her new granddaughter, Alice. Alan has chosen aptly 'Miss Alice', a David Austin Rose. He says "it's got a wonderful old rose fragrance with a hint of Lily of the Valley. It's soft pink with a sort of confused centre and it fades lightly to ivory white on the edges. It only grows to about three feet high and two feet wide, smothered in simply beautiful flowers!"

Now that spring might be finally here, what's your bright and beautiful plant for spring flower? Tell us in the comments section below.
