Saturday Night at the Movies - Saturday 8 March 2014

Howard Goodall explores the great works of literature as they have been adapted for the silver screen.

It was World Book Day on Thursday, so tonight Howard Goodall will be keeping the literary spirit going in fine style.

In the first hour, he has scores from successful film adaptations of some of our best-loved books, including Sense and Sensibility, The Da Vinci Code, Sherlock Holmes, Atonement and Cloud Atlas.

Howard will then focus on big-screen portrayals of famous authors, such as Oscar Wilde in Wilde, Charles Dickens in The Invisible Woman, Virginia Woolf in The Hours and J.M.Barrie in Finding Neverland.
