Howard Goodall marks the birthdays of two great Roberts from the movies - Redford and de Niro.
Two living legends of the big screen, Robert de Niro and Robert Redford, celebrate birthdays on the 17 and 18 August respectively, so Howard Goodall is dedicating two hours to the careers of the two of them.
Exploring de Niro's long collaborative working relationship with director Martin Scorsese and Robert Redford's work as both actor and director over the decades, the programme features Bernard Hermann's haunting score for Taxi Driver and Nino Rota's music for The Godfather II.
Among other movie favourites are John Barry's theme for Out of Africa and Thomas Newman's score for The Horse Whisperer.
