Einaudi ends Nicola Benedetti's five-week residency at the top of the Chart.
Nicola Benedetti's Scottish album, Homecoming, has been dethroned from the No.1 position in the Classic FM Chart after five weeks at the top. Ludovico Einaudi's Islands has shot forward from 10th place to take the crown, pushing Benedetti to No. 3. Guitarist Craig Ogden stays put at No. 2.
This week's only new entry comes in at No. 23 - a very personal collection of Schubert's songs, chosen and performed by the German bass-baritone Christian Gerhaher, who has performed these songs for many years and certainly has a profound connection to them.
