Charlotte Green's Culture Club, Sunday 9 August 2015, 3pm
Join Charlotte Green for Classic FM’s weekly arts and interviews show.
This Sunday Charlotte is focussing on the Edinburgh International Festival, picking her concert highlights and playing recordings by key performers.
The Festival opened with the Harmonium Project, marking the 50th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus. It combined John Adams’s mesmerising choral work Harmonium with a series of spectacular animations, projected onto the outside of the Usher Hall.
Charlotte talks to the Festival Director Fergus Linehan about the aims of the 2015 Festival, Edinburgh's most exciting venues, and what advice he has for first time Festival goers.
She also asks him about this year's Festival highlights. They include all-round piano virtuoso and entertainer Chilly Gonzales teaming up with the Kaiser Quartett to present his hotly anticipated new project Chambers, and Sir John Eliot Gardiner bringing his period-instrument Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique to the Festival for two works by Berlioz.
