This week Charlotte welcomed the world-famous bass-baritone Bryn Terfel to talk about his appearance at Grange Park Opera, taking on the role of Reb Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. Terfel is no stranger to crossing over into musical theatre territory from opera. He has appeared in staged concert performances of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and has recorded albums of songs by Lerner and Loewe, and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Composer Patrick Hawes also comes into the Culture Club to talk about his huge new project, the Great War Symphony - an orchestral and choral work in four movements (one for each year of the First World War), which will premiere in 2018. Hawes is giving Classic FM listeners a taster with an exclusive premiere play of an extract from the piece on this week's show.
