Tune in to John Suchet's show this morning to hear a track from bass-baritone Bryn Terfel's new album, Homeward Bound.
Bass-baritone Bryn Terfel is releasing a new album in September - and you can hear the exclusive first play of a track on John Suchet's show this morning. The new album, Homeward Bound, features songs inspired by Terfel's homeland, as well as a track composed by Paul Mealor, called Faith's Call.
Featuring over 360 musicians in total, record label Deutsche Grammophon claim the album is the most ambitious recording ever made in its 115-year history. After 20 years of recording with the prestigious Yellow Label, Bryn is not only renewing his contract this year, but also launching his own imprint of the label, Snowdonia Records.
The Welsh singing legend hopes to nurture new international musical talent with his new label, commenting: "I want to help give young artists the opportunity to record – the same opportunity I was given when I myself joined Deutsche Grammophon over twenty years ago."
Tune in to John Suchet's show this morning for your first chance to hear Bryn's take on What a Wonderful World. You can see a trailer for the new album below.
