Bryn Terfel and the Faenol Festival Trust have announced that the Faenol Festival will go ahead this year, between 27th and 30th August, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The internationally renowned Faenol Festival was founded by Bryn Terfel and takes place at his home, the Faenol estate near Caernarfon in North Wales.
The Faenol Festival’s return will be eagerly anticipated, following a year off, with a new line up of stars along with a new structure and some exciting new elements for the Festival.
“This year’s Festival is a celebration of the last 10 years combined with a new look festival structure for a secure future. We’re bringing back some of the artists that have wowed our audiences and we’re also introducing some new elements to the weekend. I’m looking forward to welcoming people from all across the UK and the world to my corner of Wales once more, and to an unforgettable musical bank holiday weekend!”, says Bryn.
Irish pop band Westlife will open the festival, fresh from the 2010 UK Arena Tour, while Rolando Villazon will head the line-up for the The Opera Gala on the Saturday night. Rolando is sure to create more magical, unforgettable memories as he joins Bryn Terfel and the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera under the baton of Gareth Jones for a night of opera and classical music under the stars. Of course, no opera gala would be complete without a few love duets and so Bryn and Rolando will be joined by internationally renowned soprano Sylvia Schwartz, and Romanian mezzo Ruxandra Donose. It promises to be a night of glorious voices!
Tan y Ddraig 10 takes on a new look and vibe with a fiery combination of top Welsh bands mixed with some household UK music industry acts, including BRIT Award nominated band, The Feeling, alongside Indie favourites Shed Seven, Athlete and The Roads.
On Bank Holiday Monday, Hayley Westenra will be making her second appearance at the Faenol Festival and Rhydian will be making his Faenol debut.
