The Full Works Concert - Tuesday 30 October 2012: New Releases

Jane Jones profiles some of the best new classical releases including Max Richter’s take on ‘Winter’ from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

An outstanding new recording of Dvorak’s Symphony No.9 (‘From the New World’) from the Orchestra of the Academy of St. Cecilia conducted by Antonio Pappano will feature in the Full Works Concert alongside music from the latest volume in the Romantic Piano Concertos series, composed by the delightfully-named Johann Peter Pixis. This packed new releases programme will conclude with music from Lang Lang’s latest album, which is dedicated to the piano miniatures of Chopin.
