The Full Works Concert - Tuesday 19 February 2013: Great Orchestras of the World

It’s the turn of another American orchestra to feature tonight, as Jane Jones celebrates some music-making in Minnesota.

We’ll begin with a real treat: the whole of Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 (‘Eroica’) conducted by Osmo Vanska.  He then remains on the podium to conduct Tchaikovsky’s Concerto Fantasia for piano and orchestra featuring the soloist Stephen Hough, and we’ll end in rousing style with the Symphonic Dances from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story.
