The Full Works Concert - Monday 25 February 2013: Great Orchestras of the World

Jane Jones kicks off this week's series of Full Works Concerts by the Great Orchestras of the World with the renowned Russian National Orchestra

Throughout February, Jane Jones is profiling a different ensemble as part of our Great Orchestras of the World series – and tonight, we turn to the Russian National Orchestra. The talented Mikhail Pletnev features in all of the performances this evening, at the piano for Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ Concerto and on the podium for both Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite and the Violin Concerto in E minor by Jules Conus, in which he conducts the soloist David Garrett.
