David Mellor - Sunday 23 March 2014
David Mellor explores the complex, fascinating and often beautiful music of Maurice Ravel.
Maurice Ravel was a complex and opinionated character, who once described Beethoven as "exasperating”. He was anti-Wagnerian, Impressionist and Neoclassicist all rolled into one.
Over two hours, David Mellor sets out to celebrate and examine the music of one of France’s most celebrated modern composers.
He will also uncover how Ravel drew upon his own personal memories and experiences to create many of his compositions.
