This week, Howard Goodall takes a look at the shortlist for the nominations for this year's Academy Awards.
Howard reviews the the films in the running for the coveted awards and also takes a look back at previous winners. He also suggests film scores that should have walked away with a statuette in previous years.
In the category for Best Score, listen out for Steven Price's music for Gravity, John Williams' 49th Oscar nomination for The Book Thief, Alexandre Desplat's sixth nomination for Philomena and Thomas Newman's 12th nomination for Saving Mr Banks.
Howard also pays tribute to the actor Roger Lloyd-Pack - Trigger from Only Fools and Horses - who died earlier this week.
