Saturday Night at the Movies with Andrew Collins, Saturday 18 April 2015 5pm

Andrew Collins enjoys the magic of the world's greatest animated films.

Tonight in Classic FM’s weekly celebration of movie music, Andrew Collins turns his attention to the wonderful world of animation.

Disney's animated films have always had a stunning track record of creating brilliant soundtracks for their movies - from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 1938, through The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King - but no one expected the extraordinary success of Frozen. The film's soundtrack features 10 original songs composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez - including the Oscar-winning 'Let it Go' - and 22 score pieces by Christophe Beck. It has so far sold 4 million copies in the U.S. alone. We'll be hearing tracks from Frozen tonight as well as plenty of other family favourites to enjoy, including music from Disney-Pixar favourites, Up and Wall-E.
