Ludovico Einaudi's Islands celebrates 200 weeks in the chart by getting to No.1.
There's a new No.1 this week in the Classic FM Chart. Islands by Ludovico Einaudi has the top spot in the same week that it celebrates 200 weeks in the Top 30.
A new recording of the Smetana String Quartets Nos. 1 and 2, played by the Pavel Haas Quartet, is the highest new entry at No.3, and David Garrett's version of the Brahms and Bruch Violin Concertos is another new entry at 14.
Surprisingly, three separate albums of Bach's Cello Suites also enter the chart - two of them performed by Yo-Yo Ma and the other by the great Paul Tortelier.
