Tomorrow's Warriors Female Collective are proud of their jazz roots. They played their own composition, 'Midnight', for Classic FM fans.
Mentored by Tomorrow’s Warriors music leader and emerging artist, Sheila Maurice-Grey, the Tomorrow’s Warriors Female Collective has been working together for the past year, developing its stage craft and ensemble performance skills.
The group gets together on a weekly basis and compose their own music as well as playing jazz standards.
"Jazz is always relevant - its always in our foundation," says band member and composer, Scarlett. "Its always good to have that foundation so you can move forward."
The ensemble has gone from strength to strength in recent months and, at the Schools Prom, are presenting one of Scarlett's original compositions alongside their own arrangement of a Freddie Hubbard classic.
