The Maurice Ensemble

The Maurice Ensemble (the name Maurice blatantly stolen from Ravel's forename) was brought together from members of the 2010-11 Northamptonshire County Youth Orchestra, a group organised under the umbrella of Northamptonshire County Council's Music and Performing Arts Service.

Ravel's Introduction and Allegro is one of the most challenging and unique works in Ravel's chamber music repertoire and to have seven young players of the musical and technical calibre to even attempt the work, is a rarity in itself. They rose to the challenge, loved the piece and delighted to have the opportunity to perform the work to you this evening. They hope you enjoy Ravel's music as much as they do!

Musical Director: Peter Dunkley
Age range of performers: 16 - 19 years
