Ceòlraidh at the School's Prom
We're into the second day of the Music For Youth Schools Prom, and Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau has been talking to some of the performers backstage at London's Royal Albert Hall. Here he meets the members of traditional Gaelic ensemble Ceòlraidh.
No ensemble has travelled as far to be at the Schools Prom than Ceòlraidh. The majority of the musicians performing hail from the Scottish Highlands, while other members have come from across Scotland - Orkney, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Moray, Ayrshire and the Western Isles.
The ensemble's music is rooted in the Scottish tradition alongside more contemporary influences. The band features traditional instruments such as a clarsachs (Scottish small harp) and bagpipes alongside clarinets, trumpets and violins.
