Hans Zimmer wins Composer of the Year at the Classic BRITs 2013

It's a Classic BRITs double for Hans Zimmer as he collects the Composer of the Year Award.

Hans Zimmer had previously been announced as the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Music award, making winning the Composer category his second Classic BRIT for 2013.

His scores for movies including The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Inception and Gladiator have made him a soundtrack legend.

He was presented by his award at the glittering Classic BRIT Awards ceremony in the Royal Albert Hall by TV presenter and movie buff Jonathan Ross.

"The composer award is of course one of the most prestigious and keenly contested categories," said Ross, "and so it's a great honour for me to be presenting it to its very worthy recipient tonight."

Collecting his award in person, Zimmer commented: "The Albert Hall, it couldn't be any better... Thank you very much, I'm very, very happy."
