The Full Works Concert - Friday 29 August, 8pm

Jane Jones presents her final Festival Friday concert - tonight with visits to the Edinburgh International Festival, Darley Park in Derby, a look ahead to Windsor and a festival in Italy.

Every Friday throughout the month of August, Jane Jones has been highlighting some of the best summer musical festivals across the UK.

Tonight's concert opens with Dvorak's Slavonic Dance in G minor, which will be performed at Derby Live in Darley Park on Sunday evening, a concert presented by Classic FM's very own Nicholas Owen.

The great trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth (pictured) will be performing at the Windsor Festival next month. Tonight we hear her playing Neruda's Trumpet Concerto in Eb major.

Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries will be played at the grand finale of the Edinburgh International Festival on Sunday. Tonight we hear it played by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Chailly. The pianist Daniil Trifonov will also be performing at the Edinburgh International Festival tomorrow. We hear him playing music by Scriabin tonight.
