Scotland in the Movies

Saturday Night at the Movies, Saturday 9 August 2014, 5pm. Howard Goodall explores how Scotland and the Scottish have made their mark on the silver screen.

The Edinburgh International Festival starts this weekend and Howard Goodall dedicates this week's show to Scotland in the movies.

He features music from films such as Brave and Local Hero (pictured), as well as scores from Scottish composers including Patrick Doyle and Craig Armstrong.

There will also be soundtracks from films starring the cream of Scottish acting talent: Sean Connery, Gerard Butler, Shirley Henderson, Kelly MacDonald, David Tennant and James McAvoy.
